Description: Anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antipyretic
Composition: Each ml contains: 50 mg Flunixin,
Indications: Horses: Relief of inflammatory lesions of the musculoskeletal system, myositis, osteitis, arthritis, tendinitis, synovitis. Colic: relief of visceral pain associated with colic presenting.
Cattle: Supportive treatment in acute infections (particularly in the bovine respiratory disease complex).
Neonatal calf diarrhea. Treatment of acute pain caused by surgery, injury, musculoskeletal injuries.
Swine: Treatment of metritis-mastitis syndrome-agalactia. Acute and chronic inflammation of the musculoskeletal system
Canine: Relief in inflammatory lesions of the musculoskeletal system, myositis, osteitis, arthritis, tendinitis, synovitis. Cases with acute pain, including endotoxic shock caused by viral or bacterial infectious processes. It helps in the treatment of canine parvovirus.
Therapeutic action: Flunixin meglumine is a potent analgesic -without narcotic or steroid action-, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic
Dosage and Administration:
Horse: The recommended dose for musculoskeletal disorders is 1.1 mg/kg b.w. equivalent to 1 ml (50 mg Flunixin) every 45 kg b.w. EV or IM once a day and can be repeated until no more than 5 consecutive days. The onset of pharmacological activity within a period of 2 hours. The maximum response occurs between 12 and 16 hours. and duration of the activity is 24-36 hours. The recommended dose for the relief of pain associated with equine colic is 1 ml per 45 kg b.w. EV administration is recommended for quick pain relief. Clinical studies show pain relief within 15 minutes in many cases. Treatment may be repeated when signs of colic recur. During clinical trials 10% of the horses required about one or two additional treatments. The cause of colic should be determined and treated with appropriate therapy.
Cattle: 1.1 to 2.2 mg/kg b.w.(From 1.1 to 2.2 ml/50 kg b.w.). Calves: 2-3 ml in a single dose. Pigs: 2.2 mg/kg b.w.(0.44 ml/10 kg b.w.).
Canine: between 1.1 and 2.0 mg/kg b.w.(From 0.22 to 0.4 ml/10 kg b.w.)
