Formula: Furosemide 5.0 g; Dexamethasone Sodium Phosphate 0.050 g, formulation agents c.s.p. 100 ml.
Indications: Edemas of diverse origins, in cattle, sheep and horses.
Especially indicated in postpartum udder edema of cattle.
Warning: this product is not suitable for consumption equines.
Administration and dosage: the product is administered intramuscularly or subcutaneously. The general dose of the product is 0.5 ml per 20 kg of weight, it can be repeated after 24 hours. The duration of treatment varies according to the clinical case, but in general, it is sufficient to administer 2 doses at a 24-hour interval.
Restrictions of use: do not destine to slaughter the animals until after 72 hours of the last treatment.
Do not destine to consumption or industry milk from treated animals up to 72 hours (6 milkings) after the last treatment.
Contraindications and Precautions: possible potentiation of the nephrotoxic effect of aminoglycosides, so these antibiotics should not be administered together with furosemide.
Do not exceed the maximum treatment times indicated. The electrolyte imbalances must be corrected before starting therapy with furosemide.
If during the treatment signs of electrolyte imbalance are seen, this should be corrected paying attention to the restitution of sodium and potassium.
Furosemide may decrease serum calcium and cause tetany in predisposed animals, and should be administered with caution in animals with a history of hypocalcemia.
Treatment should be suspended in the case of progressive renal disease with increased azotemia and oliguria.
Do not administer to animals with serious liver disorders.
Conservation: between 5ºC and 25ºC.
