Composition:
OMEPRAZOL
...........................................40.00 g
APPLE
ESSENCE .............................0,10 g
EXCIMIENTS
q.s. ...........................100,00 g.
INDICATIONS
FOR USE
GASTRINE is
an antisecretory, antiulcer indicated for the treatment of esophagitis, erosive
gastritis, gastroduodenal ulcers and the prevention and treatment of gastric
erosions caused by ulcerogenic drugs.
DOSAGE:
4 mg/kg per
day.
Equivalent
to 1 gram of product per 100 kilograms of weight.
A 31.5 g
syringe is enough for 7 doses, for an average equine of 450 kg of weight.
Administer
once a day, preferably in the morning before feeding.
Administration
is recommended for 28 consecutive days, then the dose can be reduced to half
and continue for 28 more days, to prevent the condition from reappearing after
remission.
SYRINGE
INSTRUCTIONS:
Take the
syringe, turn the thread until the dose indicated on the stem. (Each mark on
the stem is equivalent to 1 daily dose for a 450 kg horse).
The animal
should not have any content in its mouth
Place the
syringe vertically so as not to spill and then remove the cap.
Position the
syringe in the lateral corner of the animal's lip.
Squeeze the
syringe until the dose is emptied, making a stop with the thread.
All the dose
should be deposited on the base of the tongue in caudal of the jaws.
Keep the
horse's head up for a few moments favoring the swallowing of the product. If
the product is spilled, it is recommended to re-dose.
BIOAVAILABILITY
AND PHARMACODYNAMICS:
After
administration, the product is absorbed by intestine, being widely distributed,
bound to albumin and alpha1-glycoprotein, but presenting higher concentration
in gastric parietal secretory cells.
The highest
concentration peak in serum occurs between 0.5 and 3.5 hours. Omeprazole is
completely metabolized in the liver to different metabolites, being excreted
mainly in urine, and to a lesser extent in bile, in fecal matter.
GASTRINE is
an inhibitor of gastric acid secretion.
In acid medium it is activated to sulfenamide, a derivative that binds
irreversibly to the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme of the secretory surface of gastric
parietal cells. From there, it inhibits the transport of hydrogen ions within
the stomach. GASTRINE inhibits acid secretion under both basal and stimulated
conditions, also inhibiting the function of the hepatic cytochrome P-450
oxidative system.
It may
produce an increase in liver enzymes.
WARNINGS:
Administer
with caution in animals with liver disease.
Verify that
the inviolability system of the product and its storage conditions prior to its
use are adequate, as well as that the product has not expired in reference to
the expiration date expressed in the label.
Verify that
the product is administered exclusively by the route declared and accepted
herein. Do not exceed the doses proposed in the label.
Do not
administer in equines intended for human consumption.
The doses
and warnings suggested in all cases are under consideration of the acting
veterinarian.
The adequate
temperature for the correct conservation of the product is between 15 and 30ºC,
away from direct sunlight, kept in a hygienic place.
